“Product of USA” is not just a patriotic-looking package phrase.
Under USDA’s current voluntary standard, the claim is reserved for meat from animals born, raised, harvested, and processed in the United States. That is a more specific claim than a package simply being processed or packed here.
It does not make every product with another label inferior. It does give shoppers a clearer way to understand one particular origin claim when it appears.
